First off, Happy 2018!! Thank you again to all those that were a part of making 2017 the best year yet for Sarah Pratt Photography! I am so excited for 2018 and what it has in store for all of us.
Stick with me for a minute as I share a little something I learned in 2017…
One of my favorite personal discoveries in 2017 was uncovering the world of podcasts. I spend at least two hours a day in the car and was struggling with not being able to do anything productive with my time (because you know texting and driving is illegal). 🙂
First I tried XM radio, which I admit, I do like, particularly listening to the Today show in the morning. But nothing can beat the world of podcasts. (Anyone interested in my favorites, let me know! I have a blog post drafted). My favorite is Happier with Gretchen Rubin. She studies happiness and has written a bunch of books with great suggestions you can actually implement in your life to change habits and be happier (something I was searching for and trying to balance in my second year of motherhood).
In Episode 147 she talked about “18 in 2018”. Instead of making a New Year’s Resolution (I gave up years ago because I never keep them; I’m an obliger) you create a list of 18 things you want to accomplish/change before 2018 is over. Brilliant for this list making lover!
So here’s a peak at my 18 in ’18…
What’s on your 18 in ’18?
- Have profession family photos taken?
- Take better everyday photos of your kids?
- Learn how to use the camera you got two Christmases ago?
- PRINT the photos on your phone???
Well I’m here to help with all of those! And I’m going to do a few different blog posts on all of these topics in the coming weeks/months to help you get off on the right foot with your photos in early 2018.
If “lose X pounds” is also on your list, scheduling a family photo session is the perfect way to hold yourself accountable for that goal. So, come on, what are you waiting for? Book your family session between March and June by February 1 and save $50 off your session fee.
Leave a comment with your photo-related 2018 goals!
