Sarah Pratt Photography {Polo anyone?} Boston Lifestyle Photographer

If you’ve never been to a polo match, put it on your bucket list!  I’m serious.  It’s the best of football tailgating, brought field side.  You just hang out, have a great time and watch the game (the people watching is quite fun as well). It’s a must experience.

Anyway, I went a couple of weekend’s ago and not only did I discover it’s a new favorite sport to watch, but that Glen Farm, where its held in RI, is an amazing place for a session!  My friend Katie helped me test it out.  :)  The sun was shining bright while we were there and we made due, but I can only imagine how perfect it would be during the “magic” hours before sunset!

And a little impromptu wardrobe change…

And since it was really about the polo match… its only right I include a few to prove that’s actually where we were. :)

Side bar - gotta love when WordPress won’t let you line photos up correctly…

I have a bit of catch up to do with blogging so here it goes… meet 10-day old sweet Kennedy.

Now included with all sessions is a 7 day online slideshow of your session images.
A DVD copy of the customized keepsake slideshow is included in all collections.

View Kennedy’s online slideshow

See how big Patrick has grown!

Patrick was part of our Newborn Marathon last winter and I saw him for a 7 month session too, but I just can’t believe its been a whole year and he’s 1!  He’s such a little man.

And since cake shots are a must for first birthday sessions, here it is.  Though I think I’ll start advising against chocolate cake. :)

Nice weather and outdoor sessions are just around the corner so stay tuned for special spring offers and new session sneak peaks!

Happy New Year!!

Two thousand nine was one heck of a year and I am truly blessed to have had the privilege to meet and photograph so many wonderful newborns, children, seniors and families.  Looking back on the last year, I’m a little nervous about how I can possibly do it all over again, but I know this year has even bigger and better things in store.  Its been a busy last couple of months so I’ve decided to take the month of January off from scheduling sessions and take some time to relax and reflect, rejuvenate my creative juices and rework the product offerings for the next year.  I can’t wait to share with everyone the exciting new boutique items that will be offered - albums that will make you drool, wall displays that will leave house guests speechless, and maybe even digital files!

While I’m not scheduling sessions for January, be sure to contact me if you’d like to schedule as session for February or March and beyond.  Its never too soon to get on the schedule!

Well, without further adieu, here is my 2009 holiday card (this is a flat version of the trifold card that it is).
Thank you again for making it a year to remember!

Patrick

The third time’s a charm!  After rescheduling Patrick’s 5 year old session twice because he was sick, we finally got it in before he got his tonsils out the next week!

This face cracks me up.  Superman Patrick.

The sun hadn’t come down quite far enough to avoid the squinty face, but there is just something about this shot that I love, squinty face and all.

Spencer

Spencer was just 5 months when I first met his wonderful family as they were recipients of the complimentary session I donated to a fundraiser.  Since then, I’ve gotten to know them all very well and was honored to be asked to take Spencer’s first birthday pictures before his first big party.  He was a little stingy with the smiles but we got some good ones!

The light this weekend was as yummy as the cake we ate after he blew out the candle!   I can’t believe how strawberry his hair is starting to look in certain light!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LITTLE MAN!!!

I just can’t decide!!!

Because I love them all…

P.S. Forward to friends and family and ask them to vote!

P.P.S. Wondering “What the heck is a Gallery Wrapped Canvas anyway?!”  Since I don’t have a sample yet, I can’t show you!  (See my dilemma?)  A quick description is: a high quality print on artist canvas, the canvas is stretched over custom made 1.5″ deep wood supports and the image wraps around the edges of the support frame, the final product is stunning without the distraction of a frame as they appear to “float” on your wall.  Some great photos can be found here on a fellow photog’s blog.

VOTE AWAY!

UPDATE 4.6.09 @ 2:09PM
Hi all, I’m so happy everyone is having fun with the contest and just wanted to dispel any concern that the contest might not be fair.  I assure you, it is as far as it gets.  The family of the girls in photo #1 have a website with 3,000 followers and posted the link on there, so the large number of votes are real.  I help with the concern, I’ve decided to offer the discount opportunity to the top THREE image winners and not just two to give more the opportunity to be in the running.

Thanks again for visiting my blog and voting!

Emma

I know its inevitable, but I really hate when great weekends come to an end!

You know those days when you just feel unhumanly productive? LOL That was me on Friday!  I spent the day catching up on photography and business stuff as well as laundry, house work and grocery shopping.  It was sort of crazy actually.  Its amazing what a little sunshine does for you!  Stay tuned for a preview of the fruits on my labors coming later this week.

While the whole weekend was great, I had more sunshine on Sunday when I had the pleasure of playing with Emma for her 1 year birthday session.

This one cracks me up!  E’s parents are HUGE Boston sports fans so we had to get a little team sports in there.

For someone that was afraid to touch the cake at first, she did pretty well!!

Cake smash & cuddles

Logan’s turning one later this month so we took his one year photos before it got too cold out.  Then, we we let him at his very own cake.  Man, was he excited!!!

Cuddles!!!!

Just trying a little vintage look!
