If you’ve never been to a polo match, put it on your bucket list! I’m serious. It’s the best of football tailgating, brought field side. You just hang out, have a great time and watch the game (the people watching is quite fun as well). It’s a must experience.
Anyway, I went a couple of weekend’s ago and not only did I discover it’s a new favorite sport to watch, but that Glen Farm, where its held in RI, is an amazing place for a session! My friend Katie helped me test it out. :) The sun was shining bright while we were there and we made due, but I can only imagine how perfect it would be during the “magic” hours before sunset!

And a little impromptu wardrobe change…

And since it was really about the polo match… its only right I include a few to prove that’s actually where we were.

Side bar - gotta love when WordPress won’t let you line photos up correctly…
We had the perfect night for this couple’s photos. We also had a lot of fun. These are my favorites.

Ava wasn’t too sure about our session a few weekends ago, but she did great, especially with Yurtle by her side. It was a beautiful day and we went to my new favorite location with tons to explore.
I’ve watched Ava grow over the last two and half years; while she’s done a lot of growing she is still a pint of peanuts with incredible blue eyes that get me every time. Though she wouldn’t hold still long enough to catch a close up until she had a mouth full of peanut butter and jelly. I think it was worth it.

This one reminds me so much of the one after it from when she was a wee bit smaller, but just as dainty and afraid to get dirty.

And finally, those blue eyes.

I know I’m a bit biased, but I think our new dog Smokey (well, new to us as of the end of January - he’s a 2 year old black lab) is one handsome fellow. He’s finally getting settled in with us, is thankfully over his separation anxiety and doing great. He’s also making a GREAT model for me to photograph, too. Here are my weekend favorites.

Two thousand nine was one heck of a year and I am truly blessed to have had the privilege to meet and photograph so many wonderful newborns, children, seniors and families. Looking back on the last year, I’m a little nervous about how I can possibly do it all over again, but I know this year has even bigger and better things in store. Its been a busy last couple of months so I’ve decided to take the month of January off from scheduling sessions and take some time to relax and reflect, rejuvenate my creative juices and rework the product offerings for the next year. I can’t wait to share with everyone the exciting new boutique items that will be offered - albums that will make you drool, wall displays that will leave house guests speechless, and maybe even digital files!
While I’m not scheduling sessions for January, be sure to contact me if you’d like to schedule as session for February or March and beyond. Its never too soon to get on the schedule!
Well, without further adieu, here is my 2009 holiday card (this is a flat version of the trifold card that it is).
Thank you again for making it a year to remember!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of squeezing in one last session of the year with this beautiful new family of three. I was going to photograph baby Payson when he arrived in October, but couldn’t make it down to Belize in time. So instead we decided to schedule a session in the short time they were here for the holidays. I hope A + B agree it was worth the wait.
I usually lean towards color versus black and white, but these black and whites just warm my heart!

I usually don’t do selective color in black and whites, but I tried this at the request of someone. ;) Not too bad!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving last week. Thanksgiving time over here means craziness with holiday deadlines and orders, but I’m surviving with the help of some classic holiday songs and decorations to remind me that I DO actually love this time of year!
But this weekend I escaped from behind the desk and met this beautiful family and loved every minute of it!

But this one is my FAVORITE!
