Photographing this little man was the perfect way to start 2012!

Sessions like these remind me that family sessions really are my favorite! For me, nothing beats capturing the interactions of families and siblings and a family just being their adorable selves! Its been two years since I met this beautiful family and it was so fun to see just how the kid’s little personalities have developed. Last time Little Miss wasn’t standing without holding on to something and was all smiles, while Big E was shy and may have shed a few tears. Yesterday, they kept me laughing with their inquisitive little personalities, silly faces and sweet smiles.
So here is a quick preview because I just can’t keep them to myself, but need to get back to editing the rest!
They did so great, we took a break for high-fives!

Check out these eyes. This is straight out of the camera!
He is so grown up and so good at this!
I’m way behind with blogging sessions (I promise I will catch up this weekend), but I had to share this one I just came across as I’m editing… It should have a caption like “Hey sis, tell me what you want from Santa!”

What I love most about these images is that I was able to capture Maggie being sweet Maggie. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting with her several times over the past few months and each and every time, she lets her precious little personality shine no matter how she’s feeling, but to be able to capture it on camera, well that was just the icing on the cake. (She was perfect for testing out my new vintage suitcases too!)

Photographing Maggie and her family is a little prelude into one of the projects I mentioned I’m working on, but can’t share with you quite yet. I’m so excited about it though, here is a hint… it has to do with my passions – photography and helping families with children with cancer… Can you see where this is going yet?
More to come soon.
I also wanted to share info about an upcoming fundraiser for Maggie and her family on Friday September 30th at the PACC in Taunton. You can get more info at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=153871181368313 or Taunton Federal Credit Union. Hope to see you there!!
Let me start off by saying, during this little man’s session last weekend, he was a dream. A whole six days old and just over six pounds, he was dreaming away while I moved him all over the place. So after having Justin Bieber’s Oh Baby stuck in my head all day yesterday, I finally got to editing last weekend’s newborn session. And Oh Baby! I can’t wait for mom and dad to see all the images! But here’s a sneak peak in the mean time.

I promise, my delinquency in updating isn’t because I’ve been sitting around all summer eating bon bons on the beach. I’m actually having one of the busiest summers in years which has included getting my feet wet with wedding photography as a second shooter for an awesome Newport photog. I’m loving it, but wow, weddings are a whole different beast! There’s also a special project I’m working on and I can’t wait to share the details with you soon. But in the mean time, here was a fun session I wanted to share.
I also wanted to remind everyone that if a fall session is in your plans, please contact me soon. Right now, September has four spots still open, but October and November only have three each. Also, the deadline for holiday orders will be November 15th so if you’d like to use images from a session earlier in the year, orders need to be placed by then. This year’s holiday card offerings are one of the things I’m working on and will be sharing soon too.
Stay safe this weekend!
The beach is definitely at the top of my list of favorite photography locations. Except at beaches in southeastern MA you never quite know what you’re going to get weather wise. First we thought rain was going to crash our party. Then as I was driving down the long road to get there, it was sunny. But as I approached the beach, in rolled the fog! Despite not getting any warm sunset images because you couldn’t even see the sun in the sky, we did just fine, don’t you think? :)
I had to chuckle when on the way home and a few miles from the beach, the sun reappeared! Gotta love New England!
Happy “real” 4th of July! Be safe!
Happy 4th of July!
To celebrate my favorite summer holiday, I thought I’d share a little photoshop lesson. Some often wonder what exactly the difference is between the photos they take with their DSLRs and those that are the result of a professional photo shoot. There are plenty of differences, but I’ll spare you that lesson for today.
Instead, here is a quick before & after.
And here are some more afters from this fun session at the Arnold Arboretum.
Last week I visited a dear friend in Dallas, Texas. We were long overdue to catch up and it was great to hang out with her and the kiddos and enjoy some time away from the normal grind.
If you ever visit Dallas, I highly recommend visiting the Arboretum. It is heaven on earth, especially for a photographer! Despite being a bit too hot for me (98 degrees and a 50lb camera bag mid-day aren’t a great combo), it was worth every once of sweat! I’m already scheming a trip back in “cooler” weather.
Check out these pics of my amazing hostess and her cherubs.

PSAs- Massachusetts needs Pei Wei to come to the state (Imagine PF Changs on a budget! AMAZING!) and a Whole Foods like the meca in Dallas!
