Hello! And thanks for stopping by!

Let me tell you a little about myself and my love for photography…

I am a wife, mother and Black Lab lover. My family is everything to me. Everywhere I go, I look for perfect spots to make beautiful images. Try as I might, I always frame shots in my mind’s eye no matter where I am.

My style is simple and fun. My goal is to capture the love and emotion that make you and your family uniquely you! Forget the forced smiles and all boring traditional poses; we’re going to have fun! I might direct you a little to get you in the best position, but I want to capture real laughs and interaction.

I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to the post processing images. I prefer limiting adjustments to color correcting and minor retouching to make everyone look their very best, without looking processed. I also usually prefer color to black and white, but once in a while, black and white helps capture the mood and feeling of an image just perfectly.

I’ve always loved photography, but it’s been different since I became a mom myself. Man, kids grow fast and we can’t go back in time. We have to capture the here and now while we have it. Are you ready? I can’t wait to capture this truly magical time in your family’s life!

A few of my favorite things…

  • Handwriting lists
  • Coffee… lots of coffee
  • Nantucket
  • Babies
  • Self-help (I like to call them “self-evolution”) podcasts
  • “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” ? Mahatma Gandhi
  • The ocean
  • Looking through old photo albums

P.S. I was inspired to create my business in 2008 to support my passion of photographing my best friend’s daughters – MARY AND KAITLIN – as Mary battled for four years with a rare pediatric cancer. I saw first hand how important images could be for a family. Memories and images are sadly the only way Mary is with us today, and their importance grows with each passing day.

Sarah Pratt Photography is an official photographer of Magic Hour.To this day, photographing families battling cancer is something that drives me and there is a national foundation dedicated to matching families in need with photographers for this exact purpose. Check out Magic Hour Foundation and be sure to tell anyone you know battling cancer about it. If you know someone in need have them apply through the website and mention my name if they are within 50 miles of the 02324 zip code.
