With the rain we had earlier in the month that postpone several sessions, the blog has been a little slow lately, and I apologize. This doesn’t mean I’ve been standing around wondering what to do next. Ha ha! It’s really quite the opposite with so many things going on in so many different parts of my life right now. But, all that aside, I NEEDED to blog the momentous occasion that took place a few weeks ago. Yes, I’m a few weeks late, but for this, the fact is that we can continue to celebrate it every day!
You may remember Miss Maggie. When I photographed her last year, she had been through about 3 or 4 rounds of chemo, maybe not even that many. Well, 6 rounds of chemo, countless tests and hospitalizations and one surgery later, she was able to actually celebrate (and her parents perhaps breath again!) on the one year anniversary of her diagnosis, because they got the incredible news that she was now cancer free! It amazes me that its “only” been a year with all that they’ve been through, but I couldn’t be happier for their good news! Way to kick cancer’s butt Maggie!!
And what better way to celebrate than with a Survivor’s lap at the Relay for Life last week?!

Thank you so much to Jason Gregory Photography for letting me include your priceless photo to celebrate Maggie’s giant milestone!
P.S. What just adds icing on the cake is that Maggie is that I have her to thank for introducing me to the great organization that helps families with kids with cancer – Kids Kickin’ Cancer. Now I’m able to give the gift of captured memories to other families battling cancer. And that, fills my heart with joy.
