After a wedding Saturday, I spent Sunday morning with this wonderful Kids Kickin’ Cancer family. They’re actually THE Kids Kickin’ Cancer family.
On January 4, 2011, Ethan, at the age of 6, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Needless to say, his parents were devastated. The family received an overwhelming amount of support from family, friends and members of the community. The generosity that they received allowed them the opportunity to spend much needed time with Ethan and his sister Madelyn. While in the hospital with Ethan, life still continued and bills started to add up. There were also added costs such as parking, gas and food expenses. When a child is facing a life threatening disease the world around seems to stop for the parents. Ethan’s family knows firsthand how families are feeling when their child has been diagnosed with cancer. In April of 2011, they decided to start a foundation that would help other families that have children with cancer.
Ethan is still on treatment, but doing well. It’s so nice to see a family turn around their own experience and help others and it was about time they have a family session! And they wouldn’t let anything – including a little dog mess – ruin our good time. (P.S. PEOPLE NEED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR DOGS AT PUBLIC PARKS!!)

That’s awesome if them to help other families when they need help themselves. Please let them know if http://www.icingsmiles.org
Beautiful work Sarah
